"Destination Anywhere/Somewhere Else" is drawn from my own experiences and that of others I know. It references being stuck in a situation without being able to see a logical way out, while dreaming of being someplace else in your mind. It is also about a desire to head into the unknown for better or worse.

The mysterious darkness of the work references film noir and reinforces the quality of suspense, drama, and uncertainty. The idea of heading into the unknown is similar to the process of photography itself. When I make images I play with the alchemy of desire and chance. Photography makes me feel alive. I don’t know what will happen, or what I will learn at the end. I am able to live like a dreamer, imagining something that may not exist, making something unusual out of common things. I think of making images as wiping out one space in order to invent another.
